NEW EXTENSION FOR THE MAURICE DAVID STADIUM OF AIX-EN-PROVENCE

To support the Provence Rugby club’s PRO D2 promotion, the SPLA Pays D'Aix Territoires managed work to adapt the Maurice David stadium to the requirements of the National League of Rugby (LNR). A challenge taken up by our teams who took care of the stadium extension. By rehabilitating the East grandstand, the sports venue capacity was increased to reach 3,567 seats in 2014 and 6,000 seats this year, with the construction of the new North grandstand.

The construction of this new 2,222-seat grandstand allows the club to grow and developp in a stadium designed for its future needs

In 2014 GL events installed sixteen private hospitality boxes, that were incorporated into the grandstand. A 600sqm VIP lounge with a panoramic view of the pitch, including catering spaces and restrooms was set up this year to provide a high level of hospitality for partners and VIPs during games and seminars.

« A 4-MONTH CONSTRUCTION WORK PUNCTUATED BY A TIGHT SCHEDULE. »

Construction took place in two stages : the structural work, the square and the reception building were built by the company Fondeville and the grandstand was built by GL events.

Once the soil treatment and waterproofing were completed (the area had been floodable and a restructure was necessary), the secondary state bodies were able to handle the division of the spaces. The second stage began with the installation of the metal frame and grandstands. The construction site has been finished with the development of various public and VIP spaces.

Thanks to our specific construction methods, this extension was built during the interseason, taking into account the requirements of access for persons with reduced mobility, such as elevators, adapted toilets, lowered service banks.

« A SUSTAINABLE AND ECONOMICAL SOLUTION. »

This new modular grandstand has a metal frame, making it both economical and sustainable whilst complying with Eurocodes standards.

This revolutionary new sports enclosure solution allows sports clubs to successfully evolve over the coming seasons, adapting to their  budget and the performance of their team.
