SAINT-DENIS OLYMPIC AQUATIC CENTER
As part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the city of Saint-Denis has inaugurated a new Olympic aquatic center. This modern complex, designed to meet the requirements of international competitions, represents a lasting legacy for the residents of Saint-Denis and a major asset for French athletes, particularly divers.
This new aquatic center offers French divers a training environment that meets Olympic standards, with specific facilities for 10-meter dives in particular, allowing them to prepare in optimal conditions for this international competition.
After the Games, the aquatic center will become a place of leisure and sports for the local population. These state-of-the-art facilities will allow residents to enjoy quality equipment for various aquatic activities.
Following the dismantling of the temporary grandstand, the ground spaces will be transformed into rooms dedicated to other sports. This initiative is part of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy program, which aims to provide sustainable and beneficial infrastructure to local communities.
Our technical solution for the Saint-Denis aquatic center stood out for the installation of a corner grandstand, meeting the needs of spectators and the media, while adapting to the specific constraints of the building:
- Corner grandstand: 13 metres high, 18 metres deep and 85 metres long, designed to blend harmoniously with the architecture of the aquatic centre.
- Capacity: 1,312 grandstand seats, offering maximum comfort to spectators.
- Media positions: 297 locations dedicated to the media, ensuring optimal coverage of the event.
- Camera platforms: 4 camera platforms, including 2 completely independent and detached, to avoid any vibration communication and ensure good broadcast quality.
- Joined platforms: tailor-made platforms, designed to adapt to the constraints of the building.
- Furniture: 98 removable tables, allowing for quick and efficient installation and dismantling.
The supply of equipment was a major logistical challenge. The latter had to be transported by telescopic forklift to a platform located 14 metres high.
